The Mounds ORV Park
The Mounds ORV Park is a 250-acre private off-road facility in Mt. Morris Township, Genesee County: approximately 10 miles north of downtown Flint, Michigan, making it the closest purpose-built OHV park to the Flint, Saginaw, and northern Detroit metro area. The park occupies a former sand and gravel mining operation, and the reclaimed terrain is the defining feature of The Mounds' riding experience: the sand piles, gravel pits, and mining-era disturbance have been repurposed into the trail network that gives the park its name: a landscape of engineered hillclimbs, sandy play areas, and varied-elevation terrain that simply does not exist elsewhere in the flat-to-gently-rolling southeast Michigan landscape. The engineered sand mounds provide the hill-climb, jump, and freestyle terrain features that draw dirt bike riders, ATV riders, and sand rail enthusiasts from across the region; the flatter lower areas offer beginner-accessible trails and a dedicated youth riding zone. The park accommodates the full spectrum of OHV machinery: ATVs, UTVs, dirt bikes, 4x4 trucks, and sand rails can all find appropriate terrain. Michigan ORV license is required (or a Trail Permit for Michigan residents); out-of-state registrations are also accepted. The Mounds hosts a robust event calendar including motocross racing, hill-climb competitions, and organized club events throughout the operating season.
